Samuel Oyibo was born on 20th April, 1986 and hails from Delta State. Better known by his stage name ‘THEORY’, He is a Nigerian Recording Artist, Song Writer and Performer. He started his professional music career at the age of 17. Even though He had always known music was his calling and has been passionate about creating music for a decade before he turned professional. In 2016 he signed a record deal with Shafer Records and has since gone on to release singles; ‘Owo Wire’, ‘Changes (feat. Lugi),’ ‘On a Low’ (feat. Vector and Del B) and ‘Shafer Anthem’. He is currently working on releasing his first album under Shafer Records Music Label.
In addition to his solo work, Theory has collaborated with several artists and composed several songs which will be released in his upcoming album. Already finding his feet in South Africa, He was interviewed by tut 96.2 Fm on the release of his first single with Shafer records “changes”. He subsequently got an invite for an interview with ann7 South Africa. Theory has also worked with South African producer loyiso (Known prominently for producing the beats to “Mama Said Try” by Casper. His new hit song ‘On a Low’ with Vector was produced by Del B. Theory has since gone on to work with other beats monsters in and around Lagos, Nigeria.
Theory was featured with the rest of the Shafer Records crew in the Simple Soul Magazine 2016 edition. He recently performed at Harem Unplugged, South Africa and has performed in several clubs and events within and outside Nigeria. Theory is passionate about music and puts in immense hard work and dedication into his profession. His target is to be the follow the footsteps of eminent Nigerian Artists’ like Whizkid, Dbanj, Tuface and Wande Cole in winning African and Continental awards.
